You need better light, not a better camera
Where your money makes a visible difference, and where it really doesn’t.

Every few months a new camera launches and someone convinces themselves it’s the thing holding their work back. It almost never is.
The camera is the last variable
Modern cameras are extraordinary. The gap between a good film and a flat one is almost always light, sound and composition, in that order.
Nobody has ever watched a film and thought ‘great sensor’. They feel the light.
Where to actually spend
Put money into shaping light, a decent microphone, and the time to frame a shot properly. Those three change how the work feels. A newer body mostly changes the invoice.
Learn to see light and any camera you own gets better overnight.
